Early worship

Dr. Steve Ayers delivers the sermon with scriptues from Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 and James 2:1-17. Jennifer Taylor is the deacon of the week. She will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer.

Tuesday Bible Study

You are invited to be a part of the Tuesday Noon Bible Study. The group will study the book “Challenge of Paul” each week at noon. Bring your lunch.

Deacon election

The Deacon Nominating Committee presents the following members to serve a three-year term: Joe Anderson, Jason Ball, Erin Currie, Meredith Farrell, Kim Lyda and Jeff Young. The election will be during both worship services today. Please put your ballet in the box in the lobby.

M&Ms assembling care packages

The M & M’s will assemble care packages for college students today, Sunday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m. If you have a college student please give the church office or Jaime Poe their mailing address today.

Mission Prayer Group

The Noon Mission Prayer Group meets the second Monday of each month. They will meet this Monday, September 10, and you are invited. The ladies share lunch, prayer concerns, learn about field personnel and celebrate the birthdays of the field personnel.

J.O.Y. Club meeting

J.O.Y. Club meets this Thursday, September 13, at 11 a.m. Amanda Buck, Certified Senior Advisor with Cano Health, will be our guest speaker.

The sweet potato harvest

Sweet potatoes are going to be harvested on Saturday, September 15, beginning at 8 a.m. Volunteers are needed.

Church by-laws changes

September 23 there will be a congregation meeting to adopt the revision in the church by-laws.

Bridges Out of Proverty

Bridges Out of Poverty is a 4 session class that will be held on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. on September 20, 27, October 4 and 11. All church members are invited to attend. This workshop will offer insight into the world of people in poverty, revealing how the survival-based mentality of poverty impacts learning, work habits and decision making.
