The Rev. Darryl Jefferson delivers the sermon with scriptures from Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35 and Acts 1:6-14. Phillip Riley is the deacon of the week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and lead the morning prayer.
62nd Anniversary Flowers
Wanda and Archie Ritchie
In thanksgiving to God for sixty-two years of marriage and in appreciation for a loving family, the floral arrangement is provided by Archie and Wanda Ritchie. They were married on May 28, 1955 at McGill (Street) Baptist Church. Archie and Wanda are celebrating today with their family: Anne and William Austin; Jeff and Cindy Ritchie; John and Debbie Ritchie, Hannah and Catherine Ritchie; Bob and Courtney Owens, Knox, Nash and JC Owens; Kevin and Kendall Gulledge, Kaleb and Abe Gulledge.
Office closed for Memorial Day
The church office will be closed Monday, May 29, for Memorial Day.
Tai Chi class
The Tai Chi class led by Susan Pollack will not meet next Thursday, June 1. You will meet again on June 8.
Graduate Sunday
Graduate Sunday is June 4. Seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown. The seniors will go out to lunch at Afton Tavern after the service.
Passport meeting
There will be a meeting of those going to Passport on Sunday, June 4, at 9:30 a.m. For those going to Arkansas, there will be a meeting also on June 4 at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided. We will go over the crafts for the week.
Operation Christmas Child
Items for Operation Christmas Child: May: Small stuffed animals. June: Small toys. Our goal is to fill 100 shoeboxes this year.
