Nov. 22: Knowing a King

Dr. Steve Ayers will deliver the sermon “Knowing a King” with scriptures from Psalm 93 and Mark 18:33-37. Miles Simpson is the deacon of the week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer.

Thanksgiving Eve meal and Communion will be this Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m.

Hanging of the Greens and the Moravian Lovefeast is Sunday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.

The McGill Post Office will be open November 29-December 20. You are asked to leave cards only for regularly attending church family. Cost is 25 cent per card. Money collected will go to pay for Children’s Mission Projects.

Thanksgiving closings

Hot dogs will not be served onFriday, Nov.  27. The church office will be closed on Thursday and Friday. A newsletter will not be published this week due to the printing of the Advent Booklet.

Mission Opportunities:

The Cabarrus Partnership for Children is again collecting gently used or new coats for children sizes 12 months up to size 10/12. They are also collecting preschool sized winter items such as gloves, hats and scarves. NEW packages of preschool sized socks and underwear are needed also. A red box is in the lobby for collection.

The Joint Mission Council is collecting gently used clothes for small children to teen- agers for The Upper Room. The box and rack for hanging clothes is in the back of the sanctuary.

Ryan Foot Clinic is collecting new socks to be given to CVAN and the Community Free Clinic. A box is available in the lobby

The YMCA Empty Stocking Christmas Tree is collecting new toys. Leave your toys in the box in the lobby.
