Dr. Steve Ayers delivers the sermon with scriptures from Psalm 22:25-31 and I John 4:7-21. Miles Simpson is the deacon of the week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer.

Habitat home building

Sign up to work on a project with Habitat for Humanity in the back of the sanctuary. Ten volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone can do the work that we have been assigned. See Donna Duncan or Winfry Whicker with questions.

McGill scholarships

Scholarship applications are available online and on the table outside of Paul’s office. The deadline to return the completed applications is May 20. The scholarships will be awarded on Graduate Sunday, June 3, at the 10:45 service.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child for April: Small stuffed animals and plastic cups (remember it needs to all fit in the shoebox). May: Small toys or games. (Ages are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-13.)

Spring Concert

Piedmont Choral Society Spring Concerts are Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill UMC 265 Union Street. Cabarrus County’s 50 voice community choir will present its annual Spring Concert “An American Choral Landscape” (Shenandoah, Spirituals, Hymn Settings and more). The concert is free. Support your local arts.
