From our Pastor

It was a great day to be at McGill this past Sunday! From the youth led worship in the morning services to a fantastic music appreciation service in the evening, it was a time of celebration and thankfulness. How proud we are of our youth and their leaders. They showed us their poise and deepening faith. As a pastor, it is so wonderful to see how they have grown and matured. Paul does an amazing job in leading and guiding them. I am looking forward to this next Sunday when we will honor our graduates. I am excited for the summer that is ahead for these youth and children with Passport Camps, Arkansas Mission Trip and VBS. We are thankful for all the work that is being done. Sunday evening proved to be the capstone to acknowledge and rejoice in our music ministry. The breadth and depth of our music program always amazes me. From the beginning when Lindsay and Steve started the beautiful anthem, “When Two Or Three Are Gathered ,” to the guitar ensemble at the end, it was a grand time. All the choirs and ensembles were fantastic. The children singing “Joshua” were something else. Steve and Lindsay’s leadership of this ministry was so evident. As Steve pointed out Sunday evening, how appreciative we are of Glenita’s tireless work with the chimes and the bells. The efforts of Doris, Kim, and Jackie on any given Sunday are amazing. And Steve also wisely thanked Robin for her work in our music ministry. All I can say to our youth and music staff, “Well Done, Well Done, Well Done!” And I will add, “Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!”

Graduate Sunday

This Sunday, June 7, we will honor our graduates at the 10:45 worship service. Graduates are asked to wear their cap and gowns and meet in the lobby around 10:30 to process into the sanctuary. Scholarships will be awarded during the worship service. Congratulations to all our graduates!

Food on the First

The demand for food is greater in the summer with children out of school. Please pick up items for the Cooperative Christian Ministry as you shop. There are tubs in the back corner of the sanctuary for your donations. Needed are soups, breakfast cereals, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, tuna or other canned meats.

R.A.I.N. needs

The following supplies are needed for the R.A.I.N. Closet: shaving cream, deodorant (men & women), toothpaste, bar soap, Clorox and trash bags.

You can also donate money for CCM to purchase food or to R.A.I.N. for supplies by noting this on your check.
