May 7: Good Shepherd

Dr. Steve Ayers delivers the sermon on Good Shepherd Sunday. The Rev. Tim Pace is the deacon of the week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer.

Youth Retreat

Remember the youth and adults as they travel home from their retreat.

Deacons Meeting

The Deacons meet today at 2 p.m. for their monthly meeting.

J.O.Y. Club meeting

The J.O.Y. Club will have their monthly meeting on Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m.

McGill Yard Sale

The yard sale is next Saturday, May 13, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. BBQ, hot dogs and ham biscuits will be sold. Help is needed this Wednesday afternoon, May 10, to unload the trailer. Help will be needed at 5 a.m. on Saturday to take the merchandise out to the front lawn for the sale. You can bring your donations into the sanctuary on Wednesday. McGill Scholarships

Scholarship applications are available in the lobby or online. Scholarship Application 2017 The deadline to return your application is May 14. A collection box is on the table outside Paul’s office. Scholarships will be awarded on Graduate Sunday, June 4. Seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown. If you apply for a scholarship please plan to be at church on June 4.

Operation Christmas Child

Items for Operation Christmas Child:  May: Small stuffed animals. Our goal is to fill 100 shoeboxes this year.

Barbecue and Brunswich Stew

Brunswick Stew is available. There are one pound and five pound bags of BBQ available now. See Bruce Arrowood if you’d like to purchase either.

‘Race Together’ series

Race Together is a 6-part series from May 15 through June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at McGill. The series is led by Mrs. Wendy McConnell. If you are interested in gaining a better historical and social context about our current racial situation and how we may bridge the gap, this group is for you.
