Amazing Maize Maze

The youth will go to Huntersville today, Sunday Oct. 22, to the Amazing Maize Maze right after Sunday School.

Church safety program

Monday, Oct. 23, Jim Francis with Southern Mutual Church Insurance Co. (McGill’s provider) will present thoughts and ideas that they, as an insurance company, have for church safety. In today’s climate, safety is a topic that congregations need to talk about. This is an open meeting for the congregation and we encourage the deacons, building and grounds committee and ushers to attend.

There will be a brief Building and Grounds meeting after the safety meeting tomorrow night, Oct. 23.

Church budget conference

A church conference will be held on November 5 at 6 p.m. to answer your questions about the new budget. The church will vote at both services without discussion on November 12.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are available in the lobby. Please see the list of items that can be included. Cost to ship is $9. A packing party for will be on Sunday, November 5, from 9:30-11:30 for school age children.

15 years at Poplar Tent

Mark your calendar for November 19 as we celebrate 15 years at the 5300 Poplar Tent Road location and the retirement of the debt.

McGill Christmas post office

Beginning November 26 through December 17 you can “mail” your Christmas card to our active church members for 25 cent per card. All money collected will help our children’s missions. This year we will pack 100 boxes from what you have donated throughout the year. The money collected for cards last year will pay the shipping cost this year.

Hot dog volunteers needed

Hymn singing

An old fashioned hymn sing presented by Piedmont Choral Society today, Sunday Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill Methodist Church.
