Arkansas Missions Needs

The youth will go to Arkansas July 8-16. The following items are needed: puzzles, beach towels, bags with handles and sunscreen spray 30 or higher. Today is the last day for your donations.

Samaritan’s Feet

Please sign up today with Donna Duncan to participate in Samaritan’s Feet, a shoe distribution for children and youth, to be held on August 13, from 10 a.m. til 1 p.m. The location will be the Logan Recreation Center in Concord.

Back to School Mission Blast

Back to School Mission Blast will be on August 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for ages 3 through rising 5th graders. Lunch will be served. If you are interested in volunteering for this event please see Angie Schmitt or Lauren Simpson.

 Patriotic Concert

Celebrate America will be presented by the Piedmont Choral Society today at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Concord. Service personnel and their families will be honored during this all patriotic concert.

The J.O.Y. Club will meet on Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Wanda Ritchie will present a program on the history of McGill Baptist Church. The church was organized on June 22, 1902.

The planning committee for our Women’s Ministry would like to receive feedback from the M&Ms of the congregation on your ideas and opinions for our activities. As a woman at McGill, you are automatically an M & M (short for Marys and Marthas).

If you did not receive the survey and candy in Sunday School or earlier this morning, be sure to pick it up, enjoy the M&M candies, and fill out the survey.   You may drop the survey in the box that is on the center table in the vestibule.  Your opinion is important!

Recycling for St. Jude’s

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children recycles used greeting cards and creates new holiday and all-occasion greeting cards. There is a box in the foyer for your cards. This project ends on April 30.

Global Missions goal

The CBF Easter Global Missions Offering is being received through Easter Sunday. The offering supports all field personnel. McGill’s goal is $4000.

Youth Deadline

Today is the deadline for youth to sign up for the spring retreat at Awanita Valley. Deposit is $25.00. See Paul today.

McGill Barbecue

The 10th annual BBQ will be on Friday, March 18, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Jim Avett will perform at noon and at 5:30 p.m. Please see Bruce to buy or sell tickets or to volunteer to work. Proceeds help fund mission work at McGill.

If you have food items or drinks in the refrigerator or freezer in the kitchen or the McCoy classroom please remove them before this Friday, March 11.

Baked goods are also needed for the BBQ. Refrigerated desserts are welcome but since refrigerated space is limited please let Trena Goodnight or Debbie Mullis know. If possible please have your desserts to the McCoy Sunday School Classroom by Thursday, March 17.

Senior Adult Appreciation meal

The youth will host a Senior Adult Appreciation meal on Sunday, March 13, at 5:30. There is no charge for the meal. Come and get to know our youth.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Sunday, March 20, from 2-3:30 children preschool-3rd grade will have a fun afternoon at the annual Egg Hunt. Please bring your own basket.

Ladies Retreat

The ladies’ retreat is April 8-9 at the Brantley Center located on the campus of The Children’s Home, Winston Salem NC.  Our discussions and study will be using a book by Joanna Weaver, “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World…Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life.”  Sign up begins today, and the cost is $60.

The Greatest Story Ever Retold

Tickets will be on sale today for “The Greatest Story Ever Retold”, the Cotton Patch Gospel. Cost is $12.00.  It will be presented on Friday, February 19, and Saturday, February 20, at 7 p.m. Pork chops, pinto beans, greens, cornbread, apple pie and banana pudding will be served.  On Sunday, February 21, there will be a matinee performance at 3 p.m. with no meal. Tickets are $5.00.

No 3 and 4 years Wednesday

This Wednesday night the 3 and 4 year old mission group and choir will not meet.

Chrismon classes

Beginning in February the Piedmont Garden Warehouse in Salisbury will schedule classes to make the gold beads and pearl Christian symbols for display on Chrismon Trees. If you are interested you can call 704-636-7790 or go to their website and be placed on their mailing list to be notified when classes will be held.

Children’s Concert

The Piedmont Prime Time Community Band will present a Children’s Concert on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gem Theatre in downtown Kannapolis.  Children of all ages are invited, but younger children must be accompanied by an adult.  There is no admission charge.  For more information go to our website at www.primetimeband.org.
