Watch our worship services

“Suit Up!” is today’s sermon title. Dr. Steve Ayers delivers the message with the New Testament scriptures coming from Ephesians 6:10-20. The Sanctuary Choir will perform the morning anthem Lord, Be with Us on this Day.

The Deacon of the Week is Jason Ball, who will read the Old Testament scriptures from Psalm 84 and lead the morning prayer. Donna Duncan will lead Children’s Time.

The Call to Worship:

Leader: Jesus said: ‘I am the Bread of Life . . . whoever eats this Bread will always live.’
People: This is a tough teaching, too tough to swallow.
Leader: Jesus said: ‘Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’
People: This is a tough teaching, too tough to hear.
Leader: Jesus said to all he met: ‘Follow me.’
People: We have accepted Jesus, and seek to be faithful no matter how tough it is to follow him.

Sunday School promotion

Next Sunday, August 30, is promotion Sunday and later in the day all rising 6th graders are invited to join the youth for an afternoon of fun on a giant slip-n-slide. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and bring a towel and dry clothes. Supper will be provided.
