Dr. Steve Ayers will deliver the sermon with scriptures from Psalm 146 and Mark 12:38-44. The Deacon of the Week is Dan Philbeck, who will read the Old Testament scripture and lead the morning prayer.

The Rev. Paul Haywood will lead Children’s Time.  The Sanctuary Choir will present the morning anthem “Lord Most Holy.”

Budget Meeting

The 2016 budget will be presented at 6 p.m. tonight, Nov. 8, with discussion. The vote to approve the  budget will be held at services next Sunday, Nov. 15.

Announcements

J.O.Y. Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m.

Youth/parent meeting:  Paul will meet with the youth and parents at 9:20 a.m. in the Sanctuary Sunday, Nov. 15.

Girls’ Nite Out at Garofola’s Italian Restaurant will be Friday Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Sign-up are being taken now. This is for all ages and childcare will be provided if requested with advanced sign up. Sign-up sheets will be available at church Nov. 8 and 15.

The Piedmont Choral Society hosts its 6th Annual Old Fashioned Hymn Sing at Forest Hill United Methodist Church on Nov. 15.  The free program will be at 3 p.m.

Helping others

The Cabarrus Partnership for Children is collecting gently used and new coats for children sizes 12 months to size 10/12. They are also collecting preschool sized winter items such as gloves, hats and scarves. NEW packages of preschool sized socks and underwear are also needed. A red box is in the lobby for collection.

The Joint Mission Council is collecting gently used clothes for small children to teenagers for The Upper Room. The box and rack for hanging clothes is in the back of the sanctuary.

Hot dogs are served every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McGill.
