Dr. Steve Ayers will deliver the sermon with scriptures from Isaiah 43:1-7  and Luke 3:15-17, 21-22.  Ronald Barnes is the deacon of the week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer. The Rev. Steve Harrill will perform a solo “Day by Day.”

Youth and Children’s councils

The Youth Council will meet today at 4:30 pm. The Children’s Council will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 6 pm.

Blood Drive Monday

The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is holding a blood drive at McGill on Monday, Jan. 11, from 4-7 p.m. Be sure and drink plenty of water and bring a photo ID.

J.O.Y. Club meeting

The J.O.Y. Club meets on Thursday at 11 am. Rev. Chris Harbin will sing several selections and speak about his work and interests.

Biscuit Bakeoff

The Biscuit Bakeoff will be on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m.

Winter Night Shelter

McGill will be in charge of the Winter Night Shelter on Jan. 24-30. Please see Robert Kluttz if you are interested in helping.

McGill Barbecue date set

Mark your calendar now for the annual BBQ. It will be on Friday, March 18.

Recycle Christmas Cards

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children recycles your used greeting cards and creates new holiday and all-occasion greeting cards. Deposit your cards in the box in the foyer. McGill missions will prepare the cards and mail to St. Jude’s.

Chrismon ornament class

Beginning in February the Piedmont Garden Warehouse in Salisbury will schedule classes to make the gold beads and pearl Christian symbols for display on Chrismon Trees. If you are interested you can call 704-636-7790 and be placed on their mailing list to be notified when classes will be held.
