We welcome Michelle and Matt Norman, our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Field Personnel in Barcelona, Spain, to our worship services today. They will share in both services today.

Michelle and Matt Norman, our CBF Field Personnel in Barcelona, Spain, to our worship services Sunday morning. They are ministering in the Barcelona, Spain metro area with immigrants and refugees from North and West Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Partnering with the Union of Evangelical Baptists of Spain, they hope to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the immigrant and refugee population and are compelled to join God in this work, to serve and to share the good news of Christ with many whom have not heard, and to live life together with people who will grow in Christ and serve the world.

Celebrate America concerts

Celebrate America with a benefit concert for Present Age Ministries “Hannah’s House” will be presented by the Piedmont Choral Society on Thursday, June 23, at 7 p.m. at Forest Hill United Methodist Church in Concord. Other concert dates are Friday, June 24 at 7 at Forest Hill and Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Concord. Service personnel and their families will be honored during this all patriotic concert.

Share the Harvest Community Farm

West Cabarrus YMCA’s Farm Manager, David Goforth, has announced a volunteer schedule through the end of the summer. Volunteer work days are Wednesdays and Saturdays  from 8 until 12 rain or shine.

The workdays over the next few weeks will emphasize training for those people interested in learning about gardening. Volunteers are needed to make this venture successful as one means to address hunger in our community.

As school comes to a close, the community need for nutritious food increases as school lunch programs end for the summer. Sweet potato slips are anticipated on May 28. Using crop rotation, spring, summer and fall crops are possible to extend productivity through most of the year.
