CROP Walk today

The CROP Walk is today, Sunday, Oct. 15, beginning at 2 p.m. Please turn in your packets to Robert Kluttz today or at the CROP Walk at 1 p.m. for registration. Non perishable food will be collected at this year’s walk. Bring a can or two for CCM. Charlotte Motor Speedway is donating a VIP NASCAR package including race tickets for the May 27, 2018 Coca-Cola 600. The cost is either $1 to buy a raffle ticket or 2 cans of food.

Operation Christmas Child

The children will make cards this month for the Christmas shoeboxesA packing party for will be on Sunday, November 5, from 9:30-11:30 for school age children.

McGill Supper Club

Youth to Amazing Maize Maze

The youth will go to Huntersville on October 22 to the Amazing Maize Maze right after Sunday School. Bring a change of clothes and comfortable walking shoes. Bring $12 for the Maize and money for lunch.

Church safety program

On Monday, October 23, at 7 p.m.  Jim Francis with Southern Mutual Church Insurance Co. (McGill’s provider) will present thoughts and ideas that they, as an insurance company, have for church safety. In today’s climate, safety is a topic that congregations need to talk about. This is an open meeting for the congregation and we encourage the deacons, building and grounds committee and ushers to attend.

Fall Festival

Church budget conference

A church conference will be held on November 5 at 6 p.m. to answer your questions about the new budget. The church will vote at both services without discussion on November 12.

Sweet potatoes will be harvested Saturday, September 23, unless the soil is too wet. Sweet potatoes are a good source of nutrition and have been a major crop since McGill first began the garden. That Saturday is also a UNCC football concession day.  Many who would normally volunteer at the Farm will be working the game, so we need others to step forward and fill the gap.  If you are considering volunteering at the Farm, sign up today following worship.
