CBF missions

In the CBF video today, you will meet CINDY, who expresses her gratitude for the ministry of Grace and Main Fellowship in Danville, Virginia. Under the leadership of CBF field personnel, Jessica and Joshua Hearne, Grace and Main Fellowship ministers to people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, hunger, poverty, addiction and other injustices. The foundation of their ministry is simple: building relationships and community. The church goal for the CBF Global Missions Easter Offering is $3000.00 and we have received $400.00.

No Tuesday Bible study this week

There will be no Tuesday Bible Study this week, April 2.

Food on the First

Food on the First is next Sunday. Please bring your items for CCM, R.A.I.N., PLC or Esther’s Heart Collection (crackers and peanut butter).

Marys & Marthas care packages

The Mary’s and Martha’s group will meet on April 7 at 5 p.m. to make packages for shut-ins.

Children’s Easter egg hunt

Children’s Egg Hunt is on Sunday, April 14, from 2-3:30 for preschoolers through 3rd

grade.

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday service will be on April 18 at 7 p.m.

Global missions offering

In the CBF Global Missions Offering video today, we meet Jacob and Esau. The brothers were forced to leave their home. We met the brothers through a video last December. Their story is a testimony to what our gifts to the CBF Global Missions Easter Offering can do. The church goal for the CBF Global Missions Easter Offering is $3000.00.

McGill Barbecue

The 13th annual BBQ is on March 29 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Jim Avett will entertain at noon and 5:30 p.m. The proceeds fund local and global ministries in which McGill participates.  If you have items in the freezer or refrigerator, please remove them by March 22. Your help is needed. BBQ can be purchased now from Bruce Arrowood.

Baked goods will be needed for the BBQ also. Last year over 950 desserts were used in take out deliveries. Space is limited for refrigerated desserts. Please let Trena Goodnight, Linda Ramseur or Mandy Ashley know if you can bring a dessert. Bring the dessert on Thursday, March 28, by noon to the Journey Sunday School Classroom.

Community band concert

The Piedmont Prime Time Community Band will present a concert “Land of the Free because of the Brave” today, Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. at the Kannapolis Middle School. Donations are appreciated.

CBF Global Missions

The church goal for the CBF Global Missions Easter Offering is $3000.00. Through your gifts to the CBF Easter Offering you can have a part in responding to the needs of those who are hurting.

Youth outing

The youth will go to Topgolf today from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cost is $30 and includes lunch.

Youth serving breakfast

The Youth will serve the church breakfast on Sunday, March 24. It will be set up in the hallway outside the kitchen between 9:15 and 9:45.

Tuesday Bible study

There will not be Tuesday Bible study on March 12. We will resume on the 19th with the study of Adam Hamilton’s book, “Simon Peter”.

J.O.Y. Club speaker

The J.O.Y. Club meets this Thursday, March 14, at 11 a.m. Speaker will be Arin Jackling, a community representative from Cannon Pharmacy. Come and enjoy the food and fellowship together.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday service with imposition of ashes will be this Wednesday, March 6, from 6-6:45 in the Journey classroom.

Dementia workshop

A dementia workshop will be held at McGill on Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Call 800-272-3900 or go to communityresourcefinder.org to register.  The program is open to individuals with recent diagnosis and early stage Alzheimer’s and related dementia diseases and their families and caregivers. Experts in legal/financial planning, home environment and safety, transitioning and government services will be available to share tips. Sessions are free and include lunch.
