Arkansas missions meeting

There will be a meeting of those going to Arkansas this morning at 9:30 a.m. You can participate in this mission trip by bringing spray sunscreen, beach towels and totes for the group to take to Arkansas. Their trip is July 6-14.

PassportChoices Week

The youth wlll participate in PassportChoices this week, June 24-29.

Operations Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child for June: reusable shopping bags, deodorant, character band aids, chap stick. (Ages are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-13) July: pencils and pencil sharpeners.

Patriotic concert today

The Piedmont Choral Society will present “All Patriotic Music” at Living Water Church of God in Kannapolis at 3 p.m., today, June 24.

This is not at McGill, but it is a beautiful set of windows.

Dr. Steve Ayers delivers the sermon, The Lord Looks on the Heart, this morning, Father’s Day, June 17, 2018. Carolyn Guess is the deacon of the week. She will read the New Testament scripture and have the morning prayer. Scriptures are from 2 Corinthians 5:6-17 and I Samuel 15:34-16:13.

Morris anniversary flowers

The flowers today are given with love on the 57th wedding anniversary of Gene and Frances Morris by Susan, Alec, Bill, Tracie and Lea.

Deacon nominating

The Deacon Nominating process ends today.  Please use a blue ballot you will find in the lobby to recommend six people.

Donuts for Dads

We will celebrate Father’s Day today with “Donuts for Dad” between services at 9:15 a.m.

Patriotic concert

The Piedmont Choral Society will present “All Patriotic Music” on Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at Forest Hill UMC which will benefit Habitat for Humanity.  Concerts will also be presented at Pitts Baptist Church on Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m. and at Living Water Church of God in Kannapolis at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.

The J.O.Y. Club meets on Thursday, June 14, at 11 a.m. Our guest will be Rev. Jim White and son, Josh White. They will play several hymns on their saxophones and then share about their recent trips to Roatan, Honduras and Israel. There will be a delicious meal served. Hope you will come and invite others to attend. Open to all!

Graduate Sunday

Today we will honor our graduates. Scholarships will be awarded. The group will have dinner at Afton Tavern on Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m. Please let Paul know if you can attend.

McGill men at Punchy’s

The men will meet at Punchy’s Diner on Thursday, June 7, for breakfast at 8 a.m.
