Living will/power of attorney

A free opportunity to review and sign your living will and healthcare power of attorney will be offered on January 11, March 8, May 10, July 12, September 13 and November 8 at the Concord Library from 5-7 pm. The sessions are also available in Kannapolis and Harrisburg libraries on different dates. See the flier in the lobby area for more information. This is sponsored by Carolinas Health Care.

Broadcasting

CBF Offering for Global Missions

You can share the love of Christ with the world by contributing to the CBF Offering for Global Missions. The church goal is $5,000.00. To date we have received $1738.00.

Wednesday activities

Wednesday night rehearsals and activities will resume on January 3rd.

The Joint Missions Council is collecting gently worn or new coats for children up to size 12 and socks and underwear for preschoolers.

Donations for 2017 must be postmarked December 30, 2017 or given during worship services in December to receive credit for 2017. They can also be delivered to the church.

Youth dinner tonight

Youth reminders: The Progressive Dinner is today, Sunday, Dec. 17. Meet at the church at 4:30. Please bring $5 to $10 to help someone in need in Helena, Arkansas. We will return to the church around 9 pm. Deadline to sign up for the Winter Retreat is also today. A deposit of $25 is needed.

McGill Post Office

Today is the last day to mail your Christmas cards to active church members for 25 cents. All money collected will help our children’s missions.

Blue Christmas

A service of remembrance, “Blue Christmas”, will be on Wednesday night at 7 pm.

Christmas Pokes

Christmas pokes will be assembled on Saturday, December 23, at 10 pm.

On Sunday, December 24, worship services and Sunday School will be at the regular times.  The Christmas Eve Services are at 6 pm and 11 pm.

The Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual Christmas concert with an orchestra today, Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill United Methodist Church. A reception will follow.

Moravian Lovefeast

The Moravian Lovefeast is tonight, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. This is a wonderful beginning to the Advent season. The service celebrates the birth of Christ with scripture reading and prayer, hymns, sweet bread and special coffee and lighting of the candles.

Family movie night

On Friday, December 8, at 7 p.m. the Family Life Committee will have movie night for all ages featuring the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life” with popcorn and hot cocoa bar.
