The CROP Walk is today. It will begin at 2 pm at Kimball Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. Please see Robert Kluttz today to donate.

Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is this Friday, October 28, from 6-8 p.m.  Come and enjoy the cake walk, face painting, games, popcorn, basket raffle, guessing jars and much more. Hot dogs will be sold. Wrapped candy is needed. If you would like to volunteer to help, please see Londa Carroll or Regis McLean today.

If you are bringing cakes or cookies for the Cake Walk on Friday please cut your cake in half and wrap in plastic.  Cookies should be in a zip lock bag. Please bring to the church by 5:30 this Friday.

Children’s Coat Collection

We are collecting new and gently used coats for children up to size 10. We are also requesting pre-packaged socks and underwear for preschool aged children. There is a basket in the lobby.

Concert today

The Piedmont Prime Time Community Band is presenting “An Autumn Tapestry” today at 4 p.m. at Winkler Middle School. Admission is $5 for ages 12-65.

Oct. 16: A Covenant of the Heart

Dr. Steve Ayers will deliver the message with scriptures from Jeremiah 31:27-34 and  Luke 18:1-8. Chuck Broadway is the Deacon of the Week. He will read the Old Testament scripture and have the morning prayer.

Alzheimer’s Association

We welcome to our service today the Alzheimer’s Association of Western Carolina Chapter. They will present a gift from the E Noodle fund raiser in honor of Mrs. Janet Ayers.

‘Old Fashioned Hymn Sing’

The 50-voice Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual “Old Fashioned Hymn Sing” today at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, 265 Union Street North, Concord.  The free event will feature older traditional, beloved hymns as well as several anthems by the choir.  There will be lots of audience participation with hymn requests and group singing.  Please bring canned goods for Cooperative Christian Ministry.

Christen’s pumpkin patch

The Children’s Ministry is sponsoring a trip to the Pumpkin Patch at Riverbend Farm on Saturday, October 22. Meet there at 3:30. If you would like to eat at the Fresh House Restaurant that day please sign up with Paul.

Youth Meeting

Youth parent information meeting is Sunday at 9:20 a.m. in the sanctuary.

The Youth will meet tonight from 6:15-7:45.

The J.O.Y. Club meets on Thursday, October 13, at 11 a.m. The newsletter has had the incorrect date.

M&M’s Paint Night

Attention Marys and Marthas. You’re all invited to the M&Ms Paint Night—Friday, October 14, from 6:30 – 9pm at the Sunday Art Gallery.  Space is limited so sign up today in the back of the sanctuary. Deadline is Oct. 9.  Cost is $30.  Paint supplies will be provided.  Bring your own snacks and beverages.
