Easter: The Power of Names

Dr. Steve Ayers delivered the sermon with scriptures from Isaiah 65:17-25 and John 20:1-18. Eric Poe is the Deacon of the Week. He will read the Old Testament lesson and have the morning prayer. Delaney Schmitt was baptized in the early service this morning.  Alex Le and Robin Seagraves were baptized at the 10:45 service.

Global Mission Offering

You can be a part of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Global Missions Offering through your gifts. The church goal is $4000.

Spring break

There will be no newsletter next week. Also the Tuesday Bible study group will not meet. There are no Wednesday night activities on March 30.

The Deacons will meet next Sunday, April 3, at 2 p.m.

Food on the First is next Sunday, April 3. Please bring items for Cooperative Christian Ministry, Performance Learning Center or the R.A.I.N. Closet.

Ladies’ retreat

The ladies’ retreat is April 8-9 at the Brantley Center located on the campus of The Children’s Home, Winston Salem NC. The discussions will be inspired by the book “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World”. Sign up today. The cost is $60. Deadline to sign up is April 3.

The CBF Easter Global Missions Offering is being received through Easter Sunday. The offering supports CBF field personnel. Our goal is $4000.00. Given to date is $1138.00.

Today from 2-3:30 children preschool-3rd grade will have a fun afternoon at the annual Egg Hunt. Please bring your own basket.

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children recycles your used greeting cards and creates new holiday and all-occasion greeting cards. Deposit your cards in the box in the foyer. McGill missions will prepare the cards and mail to St. Jude’s.

Senior Adult Appreciation meal

The youth will host a Senior Adult Appreciation meal this afternoon at 5:30. There is no charge for the meal. Come enjoy the fellowship and food.

McGill Barbecue

The 10th annual BBQ is this Friday, March 18, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Jim Avett will perform at noon and at 5:30 p.m. Please see Bruce to buy or sell tickets or to volunteer to work. Proceeds help fund mission work at McGill.

Baked goods are needed for the BBQ. Refrigerated desserts are welcome but since refrigerated space is limited please let Trena Goodnight or Debbie Mullis know. If possible please have your desserts to the McCoy Sunday School Classroom by Thursday, March 17.

Today is the deadline for youth to sign up for the spring retreat at Awanita Valley. Deposit is $25.00. See Paul today.

J.O.Y. Club meeting

The J.O.Y. Club meets on Thursday at 11 a.m. The program will be the renowned accordionist, Jerry Goodman. Jerry has been here before and he is the best! Come hear Jerry play Irish music as we celebrate St. Paddy’s Day!
