July 26: Together For Hope

Arkansas Mission Team sharing

The Arkansas Mission Team will share about their mission trip to Helena-West Helena at both the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services.

Dr. Jonathan Zsambeky is the Deacon of the Week. He will read the Old Testament scripture from Psalm 14 and lead the morning prayer. The New Testament scripture comes from John 6:1-21.  Donna Duncan will lead children’s time.

Children from this week’s Vacation Bible School will also share some of the music from the week.

July 19: VBS and more

Vacation Bible School  begins Sunday, July 19, and runs through Thursday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m. There will be a hot dog supper on Thursdy at 6 p.m.

The theme is Weird Animals-Where Jesus’ Love is One of a Kind!  If you signed up to bring refreshments please bring them to the kitchen Sunday afternoon. If you volunteered to help please arrive a little early so you can get instructions.

Dr. Winfry Whicker is the Deacon of the Week. He will read the Old Testament scripture from 2 Samuel 6:1-5 and will lead the morning prayer. Lindsay Megill will lead children’s time during the 10:45 a.m. service.

The Sanctuary Choir under the direction of the Rev. Steve Harrill will sing “O That I had a Thousand Voices.”

“Soles for Souls” is a CommUNITY Back to School Shoe Distribution project. Partnering with Samaritan’s Feet, the event will be held on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Marvin Caldwell Park.  See Winfry Whicker if you have questions.

July 12: Whose House?

Dr. Steve Ayers will deliver the sermon “Whose House?” at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services Sunday at McGill. The Old Testament scripture comes from Amos 7:7-15.

Caleb Pace will perform the solo “Be Thou My Vision” accompanied by his mother on the piano, the Rev. Jackie Pace.

Maria Arrowood will lead the children’s time. If you can’t join us in person, our services will be streamed and recorded in the window above.

The Rev. Paul Haywood, chaperones, and the McGill Youth will help operate a Bible school and camp this week in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. The group will be coming back to Concord next Saturday, July 18. Please be prayful for their efforts and their safe return. We look forward to hearing all their stories when they return.

“Soles for Souls” is a CommUNITY Back to School Shoe Distribution project. Partnering with Samaritan’s Feet, the event will be held on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Marvin Caldwell Park. Registration forms at available at church.  See Dr. Winfry Whicker if you have questions.

Chrismon Class

Please speak with Joyce Kluttz or Wanda Ritchie if you are interested in a Chrismon Class at Rufty’s Chrismon Shop in Salisbury. All the Chrismons on our tree at Christmas have been made by our members.

July 5: Home Troubles

“Home Troubles” is this week’s sermon by Dr. Steve Ayers at both the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services. The new testament scripture comes from Mark 6:1-13.

The Sanctuary Choir, under the direction of the Rev. Steve Harrill, will perform the morning anthem, “Without Love, It Will All Pass Away'”

Deacon of the Week

Arkansas Mission needs

The youth need 30 SPF spray sun screen for their Arkansas Mission Trip.  Please keep the group in your prayers. They will leave Friday, July 10th and return the Saturday, July 18th.

Just Older Youth Club (J.O.Y.) meeting

The J.O.Y. Club will meet on Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Alan Buckner.

Youth Passport trip a big success

The McGill Youth returned from Greensboro College late this week after a full-filled and meaninful week at Passport Camp. The Rev. Paul Haywood led our group.
